Accepting praise on the outside⦠while paddling wildly on the inside
Dear Reader,
I hope November is treating you gently and giving you a moment to breathe before the end-of-year rush. As we enter a season of reflection, I feel deeply grateful for this community. Thank you for being here as readers, ADHD friends, colleagues, and supporters of my work. Your presence, your curiosity, and your encouragement have meant so much to me this year, and I am truly thankful for your support.
I hope you can find small moments of gratitude in your own life this month. Moments of calm, connection, and clarity are not always easy to notice when life feels busy, yet they matter so much. With that spirit in mind, I have a few updates, resources, and invitations to share with you, all created with appreciation for the journey we are on together.
π¦ New Blog Post: When Compliments Feel Complicated
This monthβs blog explores why compliments can feel complicated for ADHD brains. I write about the mix of joy, self doubt, and behind the scenes effort that often shows up when someone says something kind. If you relate to the duck gliding on the surface while paddling furiously underwater, I think youβll enjoy this one.
Our free Focus on ADHD Book Club now meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 4 PM PST. You can register for all upcoming meetings using the link below.
If you want to purchase the monthly books, you can use my online bookstore which supports local independent bookstores and also supports my work.
π― Interested in One-on-One Coaching?
If you are ready for personalized strategies and support, I offer individual ADHD coaching for adults navigating focus challenges, organization, time management, and transitions.
π Looking for gift ideas that are ADHD-friendly, thoughtful, and actually useful? Iβve put together a new blog post with books, fidgets, digital tools, and more. Take a look β and if you have other favorite gifts you love giving (or receiving), Iβd love to hear from you. Iβll keep updating the list so we can all benefit from each otherβs great ideas.
